Across time zones, on one team.

Distance changes the rhythm of a project. It does not have to weaken the connection.

Across time zones, on one team.

Start by agreeing on a shared place for decisions, files, and feedback. When a conversation happens across several time zones, a short written recap is generous: it gives everyone the same picture when their day begins.

Ask when people are available and what cannot wait. Protect a small overlap for the conversations that need everyone, and let the rest happen asynchronously. A team works better when no one has to be awake at midnight to feel included.

Make room for local knowledge. The person closest to a location, language, or community may notice something a distant teammate cannot. That perspective is part of the value of working across borders.
