Write the scene you can't forget.

Before the whole screenplay, there is a moment you cannot stop thinking about.

Write the scene you can't forget.

You do not need every answer before you begin. Start with a moment that feels alive: a difficult goodbye, a joke at exactly the wrong time, or a look that changes the room. Write what happens, where it happens, and what each person wants from the other.

Read the scene aloud with someone you trust. Notice where the conversation sounds too neat and where silence says more. Film is a visual language, so let gestures, places, and the rhythm of an action carry part of the story.

A scene becomes stronger through revision. Keep the detail that makes it yours, remove what the audience can already see, and give the people in it room to surprise you. Then share the draft with collaborators whose perspective you value.
